Ohio Summer Food Service Program & Backpack Program
Friday, June 28th – 11:00am-11:30pm at Laird Community Garden (Laird Ave. SE and Grandview St. SE, across from the Warren City Water Dept.)

The Warren City Schools announces the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program for Children and a summer Backpack Program. Free meals will be made available to all children 18 years of age and under or persons over 18 who are determined by a state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled. Warren City Schools in cooperation with Governor John Kasich’s Community and Faith Based Initiatives, the Ohio Association of Food Banks and the Ohio Department of Education also will be providing weekend meals to children at selected summer feeding sites throughout the summer while supplies last. Children who participate on Fridays in the Summer Feeding Program will be given 6 shelf stable meals for the weekend.

Warren City Schools is co-sponsoring the Ohio Association of Food Banks “Mobile Farmers Market” at the Laird Community Garden on Friday, June 28th 11:00am-12:00pm with more dates to be announced. WANT TO BE A VENDOR AT THE MARKET?

We seek applications from producer/vendors that are considered regional (Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania) farmers and growers, their family members, partners, employees, or co-op group members. Items approved for sale at the farmers market include: vegetables, fruits, herbs, fresh baked goods, cheeses, meat, cut flowers, eggs, jams, jellies, preserves, honey, maple syrup, and other value-added products, handcrafted items such as soaps, candles and body care products, handmade woodcrafts, fiber and fiber crafts, potted plants, straw, other agricultural products.
